Rob Macnab

Region: Waikato

As a Waikato farmer in a sensitive catchment, I have long understood the collective power of farmers addressing their issues in a pragmatic and effective way. I farm 145ha with my wife, Tina and lease an additional 580ha in partnership running sheep and beef. I also chair our Otago Dairy farm EP of 580 cows and sit on several Farming family boards. In my role as leader of Total Ag (Farm Consultants) I was fortunate to enable the Mangatangi Maramarua Catchment formation and subsequent MPI funding. I remain a member of this catchment group and have also been a founding member and set up the West Waikato Coastal Catchment Group where I live and farm. With my background of governance through the former Chair of Mid Northern B+LNZ Farmers Council and current chair of NZIPIM, I can offer the focus and direction to help facilitate the enduring growth and performance of catchment groups across NZ. This role will enable me to continue to foster the passion for farmers deciding their own destiny to ensure profitable, resilient rural communities for generations to follow.
