Lloyd’s catchment Group journey began in 2014 as one of the instigators and leader of Pomahaka Water Care Group. A group of farmers working together to restore the health of the Pomahaka river. This non regulatory, farmer to farmer approach was very successful in promoting good management practices and resulted in significant improvements in water quality. The success of the Pomahaka has been shared extensively around the country to the developing catchment group network. Lloyd also led the development of the Otago South River Care catchment group network and is a founding member of Otago Catchment Community. Lloyd has a farming and farm business management background and along with catchment group work is the deputy chair of Otago Regional Council.
