My nomination for the committee of the ANZCC was somewhat flattering but in the same breath. I would be delighted to add value to the catchment/communities in NZ should I be successful. My wife and I own a property in Patoka, Hawke’s Bay and I founded the Mangaone Catchment Group 4 years ago and in 2024 led the transition of it into a larger collective called the Kaweka Community Catchment Collective of which I am Deputy Chair. I own a couple of off farm agribusinesses called Rural Directions Recruitment and HR and MyEnviro, so I am fully ensconced in the primary sector and have connected with many across the country in the last 20 years. We have challenges ahead in the sector, but we must turn them into opportunities by working together, ANZCC can be a part of that mechanism.
